Turn a designed member into bars on a schedule. Detail beams, columns and walls with AS 3600 development and lap lengths, standard cogs, bend diameters and the spacing, fitment and wall rules; bars longer than the stock length are split with laps placed sensibly; every bar gets a mark, a shape code, dimensions, a cut length and a mass. Import members from the RC Member Studio or the 3D Frame Studio, collect several members into one project schedule, and export elevations, sections, shape sketches, the schedule, calculation sheets and Excel.
Scope & limitations
Preliminary reinforcement detailing for study and documentation drafts. Confirm shape codes, cut lengths and bend diameters with the fabricator, and have the drawings checked by a qualified structural engineer.
What the Detailing & Bar Schedule Studio does
Development lengths follow AS 3600 Cl 13.1.2: Lsy.tb = 0.5 k1 k3 fsy db / (k2 √f'c) ≥ 29 k1 db, halved with a standard cog or hook, with k1 = 1.3 for top bars over more than 300 mm of fresh concrete and k3 from the actual cover and spacing; tension laps are k7 Lsy.tb and compression laps take the compression development length. A table gives every bar size at the chosen concrete strength.
Beams: bottom bars cogged into the supports (or straight), a second layer, top bars cogged down, side-face bars for deep beams, closed fitments with end zones and four-leg options; the clear spacing, crack-control spacing, fitment spacing and anchorage at the supports are checked. Bars longer than stock are split, with bottom-bar laps placed towards the supports.
Columns: rectangular or circular, bars lapped with the storey above in compression or tension and cranked within the slab, perimeter ties or hoops, cross-ties restraining corner and alternate bars (every bar where the spacing exceeds 150 mm), with steel ratio, spacing and tie size and spacing checks. Walls: vertical and horizontal bars in one or two layers, starters, end U-bars and the AS 3600 minimum ratios and spacings.
Every bar gets a mark, shape code, dimensions, cut length from the centreline geometry with the AS 3600 bend diameters, number and mass. Import members from the RC Member Studio or the 3D Frame Studio, add several members to a project schedule, and export the drawings, the schedule, calculation sheets and Excel with live formulas.
