Paint studio

Sketch, ink, paint and doodle in the browser with a pen, a finger or a mouse. Smooth, stabilised strokes with 39 pressure-sensitive brushes — pencils, comic inks, paints, textures and doodle brushes like rainbow, neon, stars and sparkles — smudge and eraser, layers with blend modes and clipping masks, a colour disc, strokes that snap into clean shapes when you hold them, kaleidoscope symmetry for mandalas, shapes and speech bubbles for cartoons, colouring fills that close small gaps, onion-skin animation, perspective guides and a time-lapse of every stroke. Press ⛶ for full screen.

Scope & limitations

Artworks are stored in this browser. Export PNG or a layered .ora file to keep a copy elsewhere.

What the paint studio does

Draw smoothly: every stroke is curve-smoothed and finishes exactly where you lift the pen, and the stabiliser (Actions → Preferences) adds a lazy string that irons out shaky lines for clean inking and lettering.

Draw cartoons and comics with the comic ink pen, the shapes tool (lines, arrows, rectangles, ellipses, polygons, stars, hearts, speech and thought bubbles and shout bursts — outline, fill or both), comic panel layouts, and a reference layer so Fill colours the regions inside your line art on a separate layer, closing small gaps in the lines.

Draw mandalas with kaleidoscope symmetry (up to 64 mirrored segments with guide rings), or start from a generated mandala colouring page. Brushes, shapes and lasso fills are all repeated round the centre.

Doodle with rainbow, neon, dotted and dashed lines, star and heart trails, sparkles, confetti, bubbles, leaf vines and scallops, on plain, paper, dot-grid, ruled or squared backgrounds.

Animate: turn on animation assist and each layer becomes a frame, with onion skins of the frames before and after, playback at your frame rate and export as a video or a ZIP of frames. Flip the view (H) to check proportions, and float a reference image beside the canvas to copy from and pick colours.

Start a canvas from the gallery — screen, square, A4 and A3 at print resolution, social and poster formats or a custom size — or import a photo to paint over. Artworks are saved in your browser with their layers.

Paint with 21 brushes in seven sets (sketching, inking, painting, airbrushing, textures, calligraphy, technical), each with pen pressure, streamline smoothing, grain and taper; the smudge and eraser tools keep their own brush, size and opacity. Edit any brush in the brush studio or duplicate it into My brushes.

Hold a stroke still at the end to snap it into a clean line, arc, circle, ellipse, rectangle or polygon; the revision-cloud pen turns a held shape into a scalloped cloud. Turn on a 2D grid, isometric, one- or two-point perspective or symmetry guide, with assisted drawing to keep strokes on it.

Layers with 17 blend modes, opacity, alpha lock, clipping masks, merge, duplicate and drag-to-reorder; colour disc, classic sliders, harmonies, palettes and history; fill with a threshold, eyedropper, selection, transform, text and adjustments (hue, brightness, blur, sharpen, noise, posterize, threshold).

Pinch to zoom and rotate, two-finger tap to undo, three-finger tap to redo. Every stroke is recorded for a time-lapse replay and video. Export PNG, JPEG, a layered OpenRaster file or each layer as PNG, or send the artwork to the Report studio.
